What is the use of Wix?

🚧 After dealing with Wix for a couple of years now – I can say that I think it’s one of the best platforms for eCommerce or designers. You can create an amazing Wix portfolio if you give the time to learn all the ins and outs of Wix. I mean, you can even add your own parts of code to add new functionality. As for eCommerce, Wix packs lots of tools, both in inventory management and marketing, so you’ll basically have an all-in-one platform.
For other types of websites, like blogs and small business sites – it’s complicated. The whole platform can feel a bit too wide when all you want is to write a blog or have a static business landing page.

Is Wix good for beginners?

Yes, and No… half of the Wix platform is really easily approachable and can be used by basically anyone. The second half of the Wix platform is extremely extensive and flexible. You can find quite a few more advanced tools than, let’s say, Zyro. So in a way, Wix for beginners is a perfect platform – allowing you to grow your design skills if you want that sort of thing.

Is Wix free forever?

All Wix reviews state that – technically, you can publish a website on the Wix subdomain and get visitors to it. So yeah, Wix doesn’t have a trial. As long as you’re actually using that website, you can host it for free.
If you’re not new to this channel, you know my stance on free plans – they’re great for testing the platform out or maybe a small school project. In every other case, you want to go premium. Not only because Wix free plan only has 500MB of storage and bandwidth and not only because your site will always be on a subdomain, but mostly because you’re missing out on all Wix tools.
As for premium plans, they are split into two groups – plans for personal websites and plans for businesses. Personally, I think the best value for personal websites or blogs is the UNLIMITED plan. It gives you around 10GB of storage, enough for all your photos or files. It also removes ads, gives you a free domain name for a year, and the best thing, the bandwidth is unlimited, meaning no worrying about surges of new users to your sites.
Conclusion
Ultimately Wix is a mixed bag. There are easier builders for beginners, but it offers lots of easy tools to optimize your website even if you’re new to all of it. It might not be the best website builder, but it might just be the most extensive platform out there…
